Boise, ID—October 26, 2016—Covr Financial Technologies, a privately owned digital personal insurance platform, is the new name of 1Click Coverage. The company also announced today that Bill Benjamin has joined Covr as CEO. Benjamin was formerly CEO of U.S. Bancorp Investments, an affiliate of US Bancorp, Minneapolis. Todd Ruplinger, founder and former CEO will become vice chairman of the company where he will continue to lead efforts across strategic partnerships and innovation.
Headquartered in Boise, Covr is in its third year of simplifying the insurance-buying experience for consumers, enabling them to purchase personal insurance online within minutes through financial institutions and financial advisors. Covr distributes to the institutions an integrated turnkey digital solution, including personal insurance products from nearly twenty major insurers. This cutting-edge solution is backed by a fully supported program of education and training on products, insurance-product marketing and insurance-licensed phone advice and support.
CEO Bill Benjamin said, “Covr Financial Technologies’ mission, which we share with our institutional clients, is to provide an easier way for consumers to protect the people and things that matter most in life.
“Insurance has always been a challenging purchase - and understandably so. Buying it is complex and takes too long. This has made insurance-buying difficult for consumers. The challenges for the institutions that work with consumers are to keep up with changing consumer preferences, to offer comprehensive financial advice and to meet the increasing regulatory demands of client best interest. Our sole focus has been to make the entire process easier for the institution, advisor and consumer,” he added.
Benjamin said that Covr is growing organically by adding to its client base of more than fifty of the nation’s largest and most prestigious financial institutions, including the Navy Federal Financial Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Navy Federal Credit Union.
Ruplinger agreed, adding “We are helping them to meet their more stringent fiduciary responsibilities. In addition, we are addressing the need from financial institutions and nontraditional insurance distribution partners to bring insurance into the financial planning conversation.”
Benjamin has dedicated his career to ensuring that people are financially prepared for life. He brings to Covr more than twenty years of investment and insurance experience. He joins Covr from US Bancorp Investments, where he headed its team of financial advisors in wealth management, who were experts in investments, financial planning and insurance services. He also held executive positions at UBS Financial Services, Inc., and U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffrey. Bill has a bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, and an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, Minneapolis.
Benjamin added, “I am looking forward to working with our stellar advisory board of technology, insurance, marketing and financial executives. They are Brian Finn, former president of Credit Suisse First Boston; Sallie Krawcheck, Co-Founder of Ellevest, former CEO of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management; Hans Morris, managing partner, NYCA Partners, director of portfolio companies Lending Club, Payoneer and Cardworks, former president of Visa; Brady Dougan, former CEO of Credit Suisse; Gary Parr, vice chairman, Lazard; Chris Liddell, of WME-IMG, previously Chief Financial Officer of Microsoft and Vice Chairman and CFO of General Motors; Neal Wolin, former Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Treasury and former executive vice president and general counsel for The Hartford Financial Services Group; Matt Muta, vice president, IT Innovation and Commercial Technology, Delta Air Lines, formerly Microsoft’s global managing director for Hospitality and Travel.”
